I am so pumped to tell you guys about the BRAND NEW Michele Houston Photography Wedding Experience for brides! This revamp has been on my heart and mind for sometime, but there are a few major things that prompted it. I want to share the story of why I chose to revamp my Wedding Photography Experience and what this means for new #MHBrides in the future!

Like all great epiphany moments, it started with an overwhelming feeling of dread…

This is a bit risky to share, but I feel like it matters. I know I can’t be the only one who has ever felt like you totally hit a wall one day with something you used to love.

I didn’t notice it right away, but with the flood of wedding inquiries that tends to come in the summer months, I kept feeling myself reluctant to schedule inquiry phone calls.

My main goal in my mind was to book Athens weddings because I knew I loved those (which is still true), but I didn’t recognize something was missing until…

I had an inquiry phone call with a bride (who was incredibly sweet, I should mention). But during this call, I found myself saying the same things I always say, yet this time I felt like I didn’t believe myself anymore. She asked me questions that were focused on package details – hours, editing style, etc.

There is nothing wrong with these questions, but I realized something — I was accidentally attracting people who had no idea if I was the right choice for them or not.

But, “if it ain’t broke?”…

I honestly wanted to keep pushing through because the thought of actually dealing with change felt overwhelming after 12+ years in business.

It’s been working just fine.. Why mess with it?

Finally.. I felt like God addressed this with me:

“Do you not think I have a plan for this, too? Why haven’t you asked Me?”

A Cold Hard Look in the Mirror

I knew that God was calling me to create a business with a deeper purpose. One that matched the rest of my life where I’m coming alongside people to give them hope in difficult situations and wake them up to the fullness of life that God has.

But the truth is.. I was afraid.

I didn’t want to seem too intense. What if nobody cared?

Something inside me shifted and the new dream felt like it began to flow out of me in a way that could have only been the Holy Spirit.
