3 Biggest Mistakes Brides Make on Their Wedding Budget

All wedding budgets are different, however, there are common mistakes couples tend to make. Budgets aren’t exactly exciting, but they are vital to help us enjoy the exciting parts of wedding planning! By forming a confident budget, you’ll feel free to make wedding choices you love.

Mistake #1: Using outdated budget templates

There are a lot of great resources on the internet these days. Pinterest is FILLED with wedding tools you can use, however, be careful of the outdated ones! Wedding trends change every single year which means the costs will vary each year. Using an outdated or incomplete budget template could cause you to forget items that will add up as extra costs to you.

Mistake #2: Forgetting the things that add up

Speaking of little things adding up. It’s easy to remember the large sums of money you’ll have to pay major vendors, but sometimes the small things fall through the crack and begin to add up. Items such as veil, shoes, night of hotel, gifts, etc. could be overlooked initially if not careful.

Mistake #3: Expecting Money from Family without Talking About It

Wedding traditions have changed a lot over the years along with “who pays for what”. If you’re anticipating the groom’s family to pay for the rehearsal dinner and/or honeymoon, it’s a good idea to actually have a conversation about how much they plan to pay, when they’ll pay and how.

One of the hardest conversations is assuming money will be coming in only to find out you weren’t on the same page.
