Are you considering a wedding at home? Maybe you’re trying to save money or maybe you simply love the location. However, there are a few reasons that this may not be the best way to go.
Usually couples who consider having weddings at a home are visualizing the outdoor space. However, if it rains on your wedding day, it’s very hard to adjust your plan to accomplish this. The owner of the home would likely have muddy shoes in their house, guests crammed in tight spaces, etc.
Venues have DONE THIS. When it comes to rain, parking, etc. they know what to expect. They have likely already ran into issues and fixed them so that future couples have the best experience. Their only job is to create a space for the best wedding experience. The buildings are literally made for all your guests to easily come and go (rain or shine).
Believe it or not, after you factor in all the necessary rental costs, it’s usually cheaper to simply book an official wedding venue.
Some of the possible rental costs are – reception tent, ceremony tent, 2x chairs for every guest (ceremony & reception), tables, decor, lighting fixtures, portable bathrooms, dance floor, generator, extension chords, etc.
